I was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, but grew up in nearby Knebworth throughout the 1980s and ’90s. I went to school in Hitchin but found it a highly unpleasant and oppressive experience, so I left as soon as I could to study media production at college. This lead to seven years in the media industry as a writer, video editor, camera operator, director, producer etc. etc. for low budget productions, but at the tender age of 26 I decided to return to university and focus on my creative writing skills, as it is in writing that my biggest passion lies… well, writing and shoes.
Yes I am also a shoe fiend, perpetually skint shopaholic, sci-fi nut, fantasy freak, foodie, cat lady and posery camera whore…
I am also, as you may have guessed from my writing, Transgender. I began my transition from male to female in 2011 and officially changed my name in March 2013. I try to take as active and supportive a role in the Trans and LGBT communities, because I believe we should all strive to make the world better where we can.
I keep my blog up to date as much as possible, while I am also working on the scripts for a six part TV drama series, and finally getting around to the fourth and final draft of the first book in my epic horror/fantasy saga.
I now live in Nottingham, where I moved to from Leicester. It was in Leicester I read Creative Writing with Media & Communication at DeMontfort University, graduating in the Summer of 2012. I drive a cute little Citroen and can’t go more than a few weeks without making my hair go a different colour.
